Young Money Rack Up Honors At 2010 BET Awards, But Chris Brown Steals The Show

The BET Awards hit the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday night June 27, and while the Young Money crew probably won some of the biggest awards, it wasn't the awards that were the show's highlights. It was the performances ... and there were plenty of good ones.

First, of course, Kanye West opened the show with his new single “Power”, T.I. performed “Yeah Ya Know” with Travis Barker backing him on the drums, Diddy brought out Ricky Ross The Boss and Nicki Minaj for the "Hello, Good Morning (Remix)," and even Eminem graced the stage for a performance of his new single "Not Afraid." Also Drizzy Drake blessed us with “Fireworks” and “Over” before bringing out Young Jeezy, who performed “Lose My Mind.”

Other performances included Usher with "There Goes My Baby," Alicia Keys with an array of hits, Janelle Monae with "Let's Go Crazy," Patti LaBelle with "Purple Rain," and El DeBarge also made a comeback.

But, in the end, it was our homie C-Breezy aka Chris Brown's emotional tribute to Michael Jackson which was epic to say the least. Breezy wore MJ's trademark fedora, bandaged fingers, high-water pants, and a spangled glove. The homie even moonwalked across the stage. Then later, as he grabbed a microphone to sing "Man in the Mirror," Brown broke down in tears. His voice cracked, he couldn't sing, and at one point, dropped to his knees.

Look... Chris Brown killed that sh*t and I know damn well yall felt that sh*t. (Thanks Ye) Bottom line he left his heart on the stage and kept it honest. Look people…Chris Brown made a mistake… A big fucking mistake, but he is too talented for us to allow the industry to blacklist him. Music needs him; Higher Culture is begging everyone to give this man his career back, most importantly his life back!!! HOLD YA HEAD CHRIS… I’MA TAKE HER DOWN!
